Okay, so, it's Tuesday, ten-thirty in the morning. My house is almost completely silent when I'm not typing; I like it that way a lot of the time.

What's everyone doing?

At work, trying to stay awake. I wish the coffee here did not taste so terrible.
gandolforf on January 24th, 2012 04:46 pm (UTC)
I'm not a fan of coffee. It's not bad if you add hot chocolate powder to it, though.
confectionqueenconfectionqueen on January 24th, 2012 07:43 pm (UTC)
Cafe Mochas are pretty good, but I am so picky about the ratio I usually just grin and bear the coffee.
Except at work. t smells horribly burnt D:
gandolforf on January 24th, 2012 07:45 pm (UTC)
Oh, gross. I like a lot of burned things (potato chips, hot dogs, bacon) but not drinks! Or toast. D:
confectionqueenconfectionqueen on January 24th, 2012 07:58 pm (UTC)
oh man, burnt bacon and hot dogs are soooo good.
I haven't eaten a hot dog since august and now I am seriously craving a proper BBQed hot dog.
gandolforf on January 24th, 2012 08:32 pm (UTC)
My mom used to deliberately leave a few hot dogs on "with extra burny" for me when she grilled, haha.
Geenasunsetsinthewes on January 24th, 2012 08:24 pm (UTC)
What about ~*~fancy~*~ cafe coffee drinks, like pumpkin spice lattes and peppermint mochas and what not?

Also, duh, I just remembered I have a gift for you from gamesiplay that I've accidentally had sitting here for ages.
gandolforf on January 24th, 2012 08:31 pm (UTC)
I've actually never had a pumpkin spice latte. I got a mocha thing at a gas station once, and it just tasted like coffee mixed with hot cocoa.

Oh, awesome, remind me next time we see each other.

Was up all night, can't nap or I will be up all night tonight. So I'm knitting and watching a lot of Netflix, doing my Superpoints and Swagbucks dailies.
gandolforf on January 24th, 2012 05:33 pm (UTC)
I've always wanted to be able to knit or crochet, but couldn't learn either.
Cake!blondebeaker on January 24th, 2012 05:37 pm (UTC)
My mom is a knitter so I grew up around it and eventually learned to about a year or so ago. My sister too. We both joke that its in our genes because we both woke up one day with a huge itch to knit, lol.
Geenasunsetsinthewes on January 24th, 2012 08:25 pm (UTC)
I have a really easy beginner book on knitting that actually managed to teach me. I can only master, like, a pot holder or scarf, but if I can do it, I'm sure you can. Want to borrow the book, needles, and yarn?

Oh my god, so much yarn. Sooooo much.
~*Suzy Q*~blakmagjick on January 25th, 2012 05:38 pm (UTC)
The knitting book "Stitch and Bitch"...and the crocheting book "The Happy Hooker" (both from the same company). Both making learning pretty easy. Once you have the basics down, you are golden :)

Speaking of knitting...sweet icon! :)

Awesome. I've just been sitting around catching up on lj. I'll probably have lunch and play Super Nintendo games on my Wii later. Have you had lunch yet?/What are you going to have?

Not really sure, atm I'm badgering my spouse to go to the store and get me some cough syrup. Egg salad sounds good, but we'd have to get Miracle whip too...but I guess we should do that, since the half-dozen eggs we have will go bad soon otherwise.

I'm at work and things are mega-stressful here because we all got told this AM that there is very likely a mass layoff coming on Friday.
Geenasunsetsinthewes on January 24th, 2012 08:23 pm (UTC)
Fuck.

Best of luck to you-- all my fingers and toes are crossed. I hope it works out.

Crossing my fingers and toes for you.

That really sucks. :(
The Teasemastertinylegacies on January 25th, 2012 02:33 am (UTC)
it sucks because even if I still have a job next week, it's possible that a lot of people I like won't. plus if they do a huge reduction of force, things are going to be weird for a while.
paks: Facemangapaksenarrion2 on January 25th, 2012 03:17 am (UTC)
:(

Thinking good thoughts for all your colleagues as well. Hopefully they won't get laid off either. And if anyone does, sending {{{job vibes}}}

Boy, this economy still sucks donkey balls.

i can remember when they consolidated the work force at my job 10 years ago (right after I first started). There were 350 people that lost their jobs and our building went from full to over 1/2 empty. Since then, we've lost about another 40 employees so it has gotten worse. Part of that is the consolidation of business with the use of computers. At least my department-which consolidated from 14 employees down to 6, is now back up to 8. And we probably could use another person since we are expanding.

the company I work for has been growing a lot through the recession so I'm not super surprised that they finally hit the bubble. I just hope I still have a job on Monday because I like what I do.

I just got back from the store, where I found out we have way more money left in the budget than I thought. So I stocked up on nommy steamed veggies and I'm about to each my goddamn weight in broccoli and carrots JUST WATCH ME GO.

Now, though, just sitting here, wondering how I'm going to fill up my day. *siiiiiiigh*
gandolforf on January 24th, 2012 08:30 pm (UTC)
\o/ moneys!

I have broccoli and carrots to use up, too. Guess I know what I'm making for dinner!

Late to the party but yay for more room in the budget.

And carrots and broccoli? Om nom nom.

Wish I had time at work to post but we are at year end and things are super hectic. I could work 60 hours (if they would let me0 and still not have enough time to get things done.

Currently sitting here, eating dinner (soup and a sandwich) and watching the State of the Union address. Also playing SotUA Bingo with cards printed from here. I'm easily amused.
