Ok, let's talk about hobbies.

I started doing latch hook and I know a bunch of you have too.

If you don't latch hook, what are your hobbies?

I am going to buy a latch hook kit soon! I just haven't managed to do so yet.

I like to read and make graphics in photoshop and watch TV/movies. I'm pretty low key though more-so currently because I'm still recovering from surgery.

I, too, am being sucked back into this latch hook thing. It's kind of soothing.

I enjoyed it when I was younger. And I don't currently have the patience to learn to knit or crochet.

It actually is.

I have been power through Spirit Tracks lately, so I guess that's my hobby now? Also, knitting, but I never finish a project and I have yet to learn the proper amount of tension. I painted a picture frame yesterday? Also, all the reading (we-- we might have too many books), writing, and learning to bake things.

You know what's underrated? Walking. The weather needs to stabilize so that I can go wander around and look at old houses.

I do like to walk, but I keep focusing on more active exercise.

I'm bad for finishing knitting projects too. Haha
Geenasunsetsinthewes on January 9th, 2012 12:05 am (UTC)
It's the damn tension that does me in. I am always too tight or too loose with the yarn, and I end up getting so frustrated halfway through a scarf that I rage quit something fierce.
~*Suzy Q*~blakmagjick on January 9th, 2012 12:13 am (UTC)
My tension is usually too tight. When there are a lot of fancier stitches it's way too tight.
I'm working on a few things this year, trying to make it better.

Oy, what am I not trying to learn how to do lately? I know how to loom knit, I've made a few bows (hair), I'm attempting to learn how to sew from a pattern & I'm also trying to learn how to needle knit. So basically I'm just learning how to do a bunch of hobbies right now, haha.

Yesterday I tried to make some pajamas for my puppies & the pattern was WAY too big, my deerhead/slick chihuahua girl is long, but basically looks like a Greyhound bodywise, so she's long & lean, so she's supposed to take a size medium, but it's SO HUGE, so I just got overwhelmed & said screw it. I may try to start making my niece a spring time dress in a week or two. Pattern work is intimidating!

I'm really getting into bow making too, I've decided that I do want a rotary cutter & board, it seems it will be a lot easier than scissors for some of these projects.

I also do a lot of pinteresting, watching tv & general internet stuff.

Dogs in pajamas just sounds really adorable.

My aunt bought a pair for her dog who has arthritis & she paid some ridiculous amount for them online. I found a pattern for a dinosaur costume that's basically pjs with a tail, I think I got overwhelmed, I'm going to try again in a few days & see what happens.

Every time I go to Walmart I eye the paint samples and think about you. And then I want to hoard them all and make all the crafts, but I get the feeling that you make it looks easy.
beekeeperswife on January 9th, 2012 02:50 am (UTC)
Awwww, you are way too sweet, I've not done anything with them yet, but you should! I'm going to do something, someday with them. Sadly, all the things I pinned on pinterest that used them are the big one color samples. :P

I do cross stitch (but I haven't worked on any in quite a few months) and I decorate cakes. Though I don't know if that's considered a hobby still if I make money on it.
Vamanos. I wish.marblesonglass on January 8th, 2012 11:20 pm (UTC)
Cake decorating seems so neat.

It's fun, time consuming, but fun :)

I feel like the list of stuff I don't do would be shorter...hahah
I'm currently addicted to Pinterest so a lot of the stuff I've been doing lately has been crafting. :)

READING PORN OM THE INTERNETS.

Well, yes, actually, that is one.

I have to start customizing my ball-joint dolls, and sculpting. I draw.

I've latch-hooked and cross-stitched, but any form of needle-thread-fabric stuff will not fly around here what with the cat armada.

Oh! I herd cats. Does that count?

Edit: I've been informed that bitching and sleeping are my major hobbies. Thanks, Watson-y roomie.

Herding cats is a difficult hobby.

;) Tell your roomie to get in here too.

I suck at threading a needle so sewing is out. Even that thing you use to help you thread a needle can prove difficult, lol.

I think I've finished like five rows now...lol.

I seem to be between hobbies right now. Generally I bake. I'm trying to get into some healthier stuff.

Cross-stitch. I just began a poster-sized one of the Disney castle. It'll take me a year, probably, but that's okay.

Lovelovelove sewing. Right now, since money for fabric has been low and my scraps bucket isn't inspiring me, I'm on a kick of silly fleece hats. Fleece is cheap and easy.

I have lost my patience half a dozen times with yarn. I can't remember the stitches. I can't fiddle about with amirigumi. I totally give up.

Baking! I love fussy things like macarons and tuilles and tiny muffins!
